How to use install speech support

>>THIS INFO IS FOR SPEAKING CLOCK DELUXE ONLY, WHICH IS NO LONGER DEVELOPED<<

Note: If you have Windows Me or 2000 you shuld already have a speech engine installed. You can however add more engines if you want. Windows XP also has a speech engine, but it's nor compatible with the clock and you need to download another engine if you need text-to-speech.

Step 1 - download the files
Go to the additional downloads page and download the SAPI binaries and one or more speech engine. Note in which directory you place the files.
We recommend that you download the L&H TruVoice American English engine if you MS Agent characters to speak, as this engine is the default for agents. If you need other languages, there are plenty of engines available from Microsoft and others.

Step 2 - install the files
Double-click each file that you downloaded, starting with the mandatory "Spchapi.exe". This will cause the SAPI binaries and each engine to automatically install. You might need to restart your computer.

If all is well, you can now enable the text-to-speech functions in the settings dialog of Speaking Clock Deluxe. Read more on the page about using speech synthesis.
