VersaTimer

VersaTimer is a simple, yet very powerful, timer application that runs on Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP. It has some unique features that makes it different from other timers:
  • Can perform "actions" with cyclic intervals, for example playing a custom sound every minute.
  • Up to three different rules for each timer, which means three different actions can be performed, with three different cyclic intervals, depending on how far the timer has counted.
  • Can announce the time left with a sampled voice (in English).

You can define up to 99 timer settings, and with a few clicks you can select which timer setting to use (only one timer can be running at the same time though).

The background and the LED display are customizable, you can select colors and make the background a gradient fill or use your own tiled bitmap.

VersaTimer works very well as a game timer - you can for example use it in Diplomacy tournaments, where each player has a limited amount of time for each move and needs to be reminded that his or her time soon will be up.

It's is also the ideal sports timer for sport events, for example when you need to release a runner every minute, with audible signals the last ten seconds of every minute.

This is how VersaTimer looks "in action":

ScreenshotThis is the main window, with a large LED-style countdown display. You can resize the window as you like, and the LED display will adapt.

The accuracy of the timer depends on your computer's internal clock. Please note that VersaTimer does not use a simple system timer to count the time, instead it uses a special timer component with very high resolution and accuracy.
